<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article presents the main issues of COVID-19 in children, concerning the epidemiology, clinical course and risk groups. Despite the fact that COVID-19 affects children less often and it usually has a mild or asymptomatic course, there are severe and extremely severe courses especially in children and adolescents with certain risk factors (such as immunodeficiency, oncological diseases, obesity or other chronic diseases). The authors describe a clinical case of the severe course of COVID-19 in a 14-year-old teenager.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>подростки</kwd><kwd>SARS-CoV-2</kwd><kwd>новая коронавирусная инфекция</kwd><kwd>COVID-19</kwd><kwd>тяжелое течение</kwd><kwd>факторы риска</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>adolescents</kwd><kwd>SARS-CoV-2</kwd><kwd>new coronavirus infection</kwd><kwd>COVID-19</kwd><kwd>severe course</kwd><kwd>risk factors</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Paules C.I., Eisinger R.W., Marston H.D., Fauci A.S.
