<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The paper considers whether parasomnia may be associated with emotional and behavioral problems. It gives data on the relationship of impaired sleep duration and integrity to increased emotional responsiveness and lability, high levels of anxiety, and depression symptoms. Whether the clinical symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, aggression, and academic underachievement are related to sleep disorders, including those in the presence of sleep disordered breathing, restless legs syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder, is discussed. There are data on the characteristic polysomnographic changes detected in the presence of the discussed emotional and behavioral disorders in children. A possible pathophysiological rationale is provided for the found associations. Practical guidelines for examination of children with complaints about emotional and behavioral disorders for possible concomitant parasomnias are substantiated. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>парасомнии</kwd><kwd>расстройства дыхания во сне</kwd><kwd>расстройства поведения</kwd><kwd>синдром дефицита внимания и гиперактивности</kwd><kwd>сон</kwd><kwd>эмоциональные расстройства</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>parasomnias</kwd><kwd>sleep disordered breathing</kwd><kwd>behavioral disorders</kwd><kwd>attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder</kwd><kwd>sleep</kwd><kwd>emotional disorders</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Kelmanson I.A.
