<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Diabetes insipidus is rare in newborn. There are two types of this disease: central and nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. A Palestinian infant was born at Shifa Women`s Hospital at full term by urgent cesarean section. At the age of 13 days he had fever, hypernatremia, polyuria, weight loss and low specific gravity of urine. The baby was diagnosed to have diabetes insipidus. The baby was successfully treated by fluid loss recovery by bottle feeding and intravenous 5% dextrose and sodium chloride solution. At home, they continued to correct fluid loss by bottle- feeding and drinking water.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>новорожденный</kwd><kwd>несахарный диабет</kwd><kwd>гипернатриемия</kwd><kwd>полиурия</kwd><kwd>пониженная относительная плотность мочи</kwd><kwd>лечение</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>newborn</kwd><kwd>diabetes insipidus</kwd><kwd>hypernatremia</kwd><kwd>polyuria</kwd><kwd>low specific urine gravity</kwd><kwd>treatment</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Di Iorgi N., Napoli F., Allegri A.E., Olivieri I., Bertelli E., Gallizia A. et al.
