Our Journal  celebrates 60 years in 2016. Many Russian paediatricians remember its first name - "Issues of motherhood and childhood protection". It is with this name the magazine first appeared in 1956. Its main focus was the medical aspects of child health from fetal development till adolescence.

The first editor in chief from 1956 to 1989 was the academician of AMS USSR (later RAMS) prof. Nina Nisevich.

From 1989 to 2000, the magazine was headed by academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation prof. Yury Veltishchev.

Since 2000 and until today the chief editor – professor Alexander D. Tsaregorodtsev (the former Russian Minister of Health and the Moscow Institute of Pediatrics and Child Surgery Director)
