Author Guidelines
When sending articles to the editorial, authors should be guided by the following rules that take into account Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.
In its activities, “Rossiyskiy Vestnik Perinatologii i Pediatrii (Russian Bulletin of Perinatology and Pediatrics)” is based on the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki of the world medical Association and seek to enforce ethical norms and rules of collection of information for research conducted with the participation of the people. Before the start of the study, the scientist should be familiar with the provisions for informed consent with the principles outlined in the Helsinki Declaration
When sending an article to the journal office, it must strictly satisfy the following requirements:
1. The paper should be accompanied by an official letter from the institution where the work has been done and should have a research supervisor's endorsement; the articles written on the author's own initiative must be attached by a letter asking for their publication. The official letter may indicate whether the article is part of a dissertation (thesis). Copies of an author's certificate, innovation certificate, or permission to publish are also required if these documents are mentioned in the text of the article or in an expert' report.
2. In their articles, all authors must disclose information on any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest, which can affect study results or their interpretation. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
3. The authors should provide written assurance that the manuscript sent to the journal does not contain any information that could lead to a conflict of interest in connection with possible relationships with industrial and financial organizations. It is desirable to indicate sources of funding. If there is no conflict of interest, you should write: The authors of this article have indicated they have no financial or any other support / conflict of interest, which should be reported.
4. Otherwise: the Work was supported (financial or other) grant/ business/ organization/ company, etc. The authors should disclose or confirm the absence of other possible situations in the article leading to conflict of interest. If not, then you should write: "The Authors confirm the absence of conflict of interest, which should be reported”. Information on the disclosure of conflict of interest must be submitted in the work in both Russian and English.
5. The article must be typed 1.5-spaced with a type size of 14 pitch on one side of a sheet of paper. The first 2 copies of the manuscript (its electronic version on a disk must be necessarily attached or e-mailed) must be sent to the journal office. Electronic article should be submitted in one file, including references, summary with key words, captions, information about the authors.
6. The article must begin with its title followed by the authors' initials and surnames, and the institute of affiliation in Russian and English. In this case, if the article has been prepared by the employees of several institutions, a superscript should be used immediately after the author’s name and accordingly the name of the institution.
7. The article must contain the authors' signatures. The first and last names and patronymics of all authors, their postal and e-mail addresses, telephones, academic degrees, and posts must be necessarily given. In addition, the official addresses of institutions with their postcode, where the work has been done should be provided. You must inform about your consent or refusal to use the e-mail addresses of authors on the title page of the article in the section "Correspondence address “.
8. Author’s ORCID (each author should register at http://orcid.org/ [Open Researcher and Contributor ID] - Open System indexes scientists and researchers [free registration]). You will receive a unique number which will solve the problem of the misspelling of author’s name - it will be possible to clarify your data with ORCID, so your personal citation index will rise.
9. The original article should contain no more than 12 type-written pages; reviews and lectures may have as many as 17 pages, including a reference list.
10. The article must have a detailed abstract that should fully repeat the surnames of the authors and the title of the article at its beginning. The abstract must be informative, rich in content, and compact (from 100 to 250 words).
It must include the following content aspects of the article:
§ the subject, topic, objective of an investigation;
§ method or methodology;
§ results;
§ field of application of the results;
§ conclusions.
The abstract ends with 3-5 keywords. Its English abstract and keywords are also favored.
11. The article must be carefully edited and verified. Its description must be clear without long introductions and repeats.
12. Citations given in the article must be checked and verified at the margins; the note should provide their source, title, year of publication, issue, and pages.
13. Abbreviations should never appear only if chemical and mathematical symbols or terms are universally recognized. Articles should use IS units.
14. Special terms should be given in Russian transcription. Chemical formulas and doses are verified by the author at the margins.
15. Tables should be constructed pictorially, have a name; their headings should exactly correspond to the content of a stub and columns. All figures, totals, and percentages in the tables must be carefully checked by the author and should correspond to the figures in the text where the place of the table and its serial number should be indicated. Tables and text should not duplicate each other. Table titles should also be in English.
16. There should be not more than 6 illustrations (photographs, figures, drawings, diagrams) that should be absolutely necessary. Illustrations must be done on a separate file and save it as image (in the format *.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif), and then placed in the manuscript file as a fixed pattern. Unacceptable application MS WORD of any elements on top of the inserted in the manuscript file of the drawing (arrows, labels) due to the high risk of losses at the stages of editing and layout. The photographs should be contrasting and the figures fine. The number of a figure, the surname of the author, and indications of the top and the bottom are marked on the back of each illustration. Plots and diagrams should not be overloaded by textual information.
17. Captions to illustrations should be given on a separate sheep of paper and should include the number of a figure and the manuscript page mentioned for each of them; the text should indicate the place of a figure. The captions should provide an explanation of the meanings of all curves, letters, figures, and other reference designations.
18. The author should submit only original work! When textual or graphical information obtained from other works is used, there must be references to the relevant publications, or written permission of the author. If you use your own data in figure legends, you must indicate "Compiled by the author". Plagiarism in any its forms and excessive borrowings constitute unethical publishing behavior and are unacceptable. Title of illustrations should also be presented in English.
19. References should be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet of paper; each reference should be started on a new line under a serial number. References list all authors that are given in the text in square brackets [1,2] in the order they are cited rather than alphabetically. All documents referred to in the text should be included in the reference list and verified. Any statements, conclusions or arguments that have been previously reported in any publications must be accompanied by the relevant citations. No references to the works unavailable in the reference list, vice versa, or those to unpublished or many (>10 years) old ones may not be been. The exceptions are only rare works of highly informative value. References to theses, dissertations, or textbooks should not be included in the list of references. There should not be more than 60 references in the review.
20. References should list the surnames of the first three authors. References to articles from journal should include imprints in the following order: authors' surnames and initials, title of journal, year of publication, volume, number, and complete page range. Those to articles from books should provide authors' surnames and initials, title of article, name of book, place and year of publication, and complete page range. All Russian language sources in the References should be transliterated, by making the note (in Russ.).
21. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their references. A reference list should correspond to the format recommended by the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), adopted by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) for databases (Library's MEDLINE/PubMed database) NLM:http://www.nlm.nih.gov/citingmedicine. The titles of periodicals may be written in abridged form. This writing pattern is generally taken by the publisher on its own; it is available at the journal office site or in the list of abbreviations in the Index Medicus: http://www.translit.ru. It is very desirable to indicate a DOI.
