Abstract

The authors present their finding from the examination of 45 premature babies depending on the gestational age. A general clinical examination and study of free and acylated carnitine levels in blood were performed. Nonspecific clinical signs of carnitine deficiency in premature infants have been established. The study of carnitine metabolism revealed the dependence of the studied parameters   on the gestational age of premature infants.
